God Was Serious About Our Righteousness

Romans 6:17-18 NASB95

But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, [18] and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Sin is serious and it will always be.Walking in its power has earthly consequences. Walking like a sinner is an absolute stupidity but praise be to God because He was also serious when He said that we are dead to sin and alive in Him. God never lies. He never lied when He said that we are slaves to righteousness. Rejoice and be glad because Jesus made you righteous. Therefore at the core you hate sin.
