Checklist Christians? No More!
Genesis 2:9 NKJV
And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 2:17 NKJV
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."
Are you a believer who wakes up or sleeps obsess with a checklist of things to do and not to do? This surely can be a brilliant idea if the list is not about steps towards becoming a better Christian. The flesh(the old system of doing things independent of Christ.) intends to journey us deeper to the old dead, buried rotten stinkin thinkin self who wants to be like God.It was Adam who introduce us to the checklist of knowing what is good from evil by bringing all of us to the wrong tree. In Adam we all of the sudden felt like God deciding on our own what is good and what is bad. When we perceive things as evil we acted like how God would act it out.Because of Adam we then shifted to obeying ourselves and ended up to be disobedient to God from the heart. God left Adam and the world(the old self). Adam became the First living soul(A person with a dead Spirit because of sin).
Jesus was the Knight in shining armor of every living soul because by His death, burial and resurrection He restored them back to be fully human by giving back their spirit and letting His Spirit dwell in it forever. Jesus became the last Adam who indeed was The Life-giving Spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:45 NASB95
So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, BECAME A LIVING SOUL." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
Checklist for being an obedient follower of Christ? No need! Checklist for securing forgiveness? No need! Checklist for a Sure Ticket to Heaven? No need!
You are a Child of God. Fully Human accepted in the Divine.
Stop hanging out in the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God wants you to dwell in the tree of life and see how God has been Good to you!
